Jungle Island is an entertainment park in Miami, Florida, United States. The park includes a zoo and botanical gardens.
Jungle Island was originally named Parrot Jungle and opened on December 31, 1936, founded by Franz and Louise Scherr. In 2003, the park underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation and rebranding to its current name.
Today, Jungle Island is home to over 3,000 animals representing more than 300 species from around the world. The park also features shows, attractions, and tours.
In 2018, Hurricane Irma caused significant damage to Jungle Island. The storm destroyed many of the park's trees and buildings. Fortunately, no animals were harmed and the park has since reopened.
Jungle Island features a variety of shows and attractions. The park is home to the popular "Winged Wonders" show, which features trained birds performing tricks. Other shows include the "Treetop Trapeze" act and the "Reptile Show."
The park also offers a variety of tours, including the "Kapow!" Tour, which takes visitors behind the scenes of the animal shows, and the "Island Discovery Tour," which teaches visitors about the history and ecology of Jungle Island.
Jungle Island is also home to a zoo and botanical gardens. The zoo features animals from all over the world, including tigers, lions, lemurs, and flamingos. The botanical gardens feature a variety of tropical plants and trees.
Jungle Island is located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132. The park is open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Admission for adults (ages 13+) is $39.95 and for children (ages 3-12) is $29.95.
